Curso de capacitación: Capacity building for national forest monitoring system to promote REDD
Period of program in Japan: 25th September 2011 to 19th November 2011
Duration of whole program: July 2011 to February 2012
Target Countries: Cambodia, Papua New Guinea, Bolivia, Paraguay, Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Cameroon, Gabon, Mozambique.
Overall Goal
NFMS will be developed based on the technical knowledge and institutional arrangement which are learned through the training course. The NFMS shall be appropriate one considering the condition and situation of each country.
Objective
Building capacity to be responsible for the development of national forest monitoring system (NFMS) based on the technical knowledge on how to collect the data for estimation of forest carbon stock change and GHG emissions/removals.

Central administrative bodies/offices that control forest and watershed management in developing countries
