Overview
Professional Development Grants (PDGs) provide support for mid-career conservationists to pursue short-term, non-degree training to upgrade their knowledge and skills. These trainings can include short courses, certificate trainings, or conferences among other training opportunities. Mid-career conservation professionals from select WWF-US priority countries must meet all of the eligibility criteria to be considered for a grant. Applicants may request up to $6,500 for the proposed training.PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES
Individuals from the following countries are eligible to apply. Please note that within the eligible countries EFN gives preference to applicants working in certain WWF priority places, indicated in parenthesis below.- Belize (Mesoamerican Reef)

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for an EFN Professional Development Grant, you must meet the following criteria:- You must be a citizen of an eligible country. (listed above)
- You must currently be living and working in an eligible country.
- You must have at least three years of work experience (must be a paid position) in a conservation-related field.
- You must already be accepted to participate in the proposed training at the time you submit your application.
- Your current work and proposed training must help advance conservation in an eligible country.
- Your proposed training must be completed within 6 months and must not lead to an academic degree. Individuals currently enrolled in an academic degree program are not eligible.
- You must have approval from your employer to participate in the proposed training and the promise of continued employment.
- You must have a bank account in your own name that can receive US dollars.
- You must not have received a Professional Development Grant from EFN in the past three years.
- You must not have received a Train Fellowship or an EFN scholarship in the past.

Click HERE to access application.Grant requests may not exceed US $6,500. Applicants who require funds in less than 90 days of submitting their applications may not be considered.
Please note: EFN has limited funds which have to be distributed among applicants of Asia, Africa and Latin America. Therefore, applying and meeting the requirements does not mean that EFN will automatically approve your application.
